I AM SO GLAD YOU DECIDED TO STOP BY. FEEL FREE TO HANG OUT WHILE I BABBLE ABOUT MYSELF.
I am a wife to an extraordinary man and a mother to three beautiful, wild and adventurous creatures. They’re cute and fun but don’t let that fool you. There is plenty of damage and destruction in our house to prove they’re not as innocent as they appear. But, I wouldn’t have it any other way! I am also a good food lover, local farm groupie, and a certified health coach through the Dr. Sears Wellness Institute. I have been living healthy for more than 12 years and certified for about three of those years. It has been a wonderful learning experience!
I met my husband at the unhealthiest time in my life. At the time when I used to drink 2-3 sodas a day, eat whole medium pizzas by myself and considered subs with fries healthy. Yup, that was me, the person that wanted to move the fastest in order to do “more” with my life. It wasn’t until I passed out (for the about the 17th time in my life) and stopped breathing that I started caring about my life.
I began my health journey and have never looked back. It’s not easy! Sure, I’ve strolled off my healthy path but that’s expected every once in awhile. If I have learned nothing else, I have learned to ALWAYS get back on the path.
True health is amazing! It’s an artistic balance between lifestyle, exercise, attitude, and nutrition. It’s like a never-ending “awe” moment. Imagine feeling happy when turning down a dessert. Yup, it’s that kind of good feeling. The kind of good feeling that doesn’t need to be supplemented with temporary uppers like coffee, sweets or alcohol. It’s the good night rest feeling, the perfect outfit feeling or the, I fit into my high school jeans feeling. It’s THAT good of a feeling.
Health involves a multiple of pillars and food is the best pillar of all! It’s pleasure for our taste buds. Flavor in our dishes. Spice in our lives and sweetness to the bitter. The way real food is good for our bodies amazes me! There are actually separate living creatures, plants, and animals, that provide the nutrients our bodies need to grow and thrive. However, not all plants and animals are created equal. Not even the same types of plants and animals are created equal. Unfortunately, in the life we live today, the source of which your food comes rarely is from plants and animals anymore. The source of our food greatly contributes to the quality of your food.
Good food is my passion. Finding, visiting and purchasing food directly from local farms are my goals. As I venture in this life of finding farm foods, I invite you to join me. Follow the struggles and triumphs on this fun loving adventurous journey, we call life.
